Cowboy Medicine - More than just rural medicine

Students working at Oklahoma Mission of MercyIt began as a college focused on training doctors for helping the underserved. As the OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine has grown, the dedication to serving the underserved has remained a driving force behind each new initiative. Today, OSU-COM offers more disciplines and degrees than ever before, including a practice-ready dual degree of a doctorate of osteopathic medicine and a master's in business administration.

Just like at OSU-Stillwater, OSU medical students learn from faculty members who are as active in research as they are in the classroom.

The OSU Center for Health Sciences, home of the College of Osteopathic Medicine, has the facilities to back up its promise to prepare its students. The OSU Health Care Center and Physician Clinics are a great learning setting for our students, interns and residents while also providing needed care for the community.

The cowboy medicine family

Students participating in Dr. Pete's Big EventOSU-COM students work together as a team to support each other through their educational career, strengthening bonds and learning the value of teamwork and community service through projects such as Dr. Pete's Big Event, the annual day of service for incoming medical students.

With frequent volunteer opportunities, numerous student organizations, and the welcoming environment, OSU-COM graduates grow as individuals as well as physicians.

A supportive staff and faculty dedicated to making sure each student succeeds adds to the family atmosphere at OSU-COM. Students are challenged by exploring a variety of specialties, with additional options to diversify their degree through studying subjects such as business.
