Grand Round Video Lectures
Choose two Grand Round video lectures to view each month for a total of four lectures. You must complete the video lecture evaluation for each Grand Round to receive credit. Videos can be watched live or prerecorded. Live streams are performed each Wednesday at noon and recorded videos are available at any time. The videos can be watched using a computer or a Polycom video conferencing system.
To watch prerecorded videos on a computer.
1: Open an Internet browser and enter “184.108.40.206“ into the address box then click the “Streaming” link located just above the words OSU TeleHealth
2: Click the link in the “Public Folders area labeled “Grand Rounds – External Server”
3: Click the link labeled “Watch” next to the recording you want to view.
4: Select the application that you would like to use and the desired speed for displaying the video (faster speeds result in better quality video) and click the “Start Streaming” button
5: If the video does not start streaming you may have to download an appropriate codec by selecting the “Click here” link near the bottom of the page and following the instructions on the following pages. Once the codec is downloaded you will need to start over at step 1.
You may need to fast forward to advance the recording to the start of the lecture for some videos. Videos are scheduled to begin recording at set times and there may be some delay before the speaker begins. The recordings are scheduled for 1 hr. and 15 minutes and the presenter may finish the presentation prior to the end of the recording.
To watch via live streaming video on a Polycom System:
- Dial the OSU TeleHealth Bridge at 220.127.116.11.
- Select room “OSUMC GRAND ROUNDS” and press the pound key “#” to enter the session.
- Make sure to mute your microphone to avoid disturbing others that will be participating.
To watch via live streaming video on a computer using Jabber (Jabber must be installed and configured to participate using a computer):
1: Click the “Start” button and then the “All Programs” link
2: Click the “Cisco” folder and then the “Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence” link
3: Enter your Username and password in the boxes on the application login screen then click the “Sign-In button (These credentials are provided by TeleHealth Staff and are not necessarily the same as your O-Key ID
4: Once logged in, enter the IP address of “18.104.22.168” into the IP Phone Number Location and press the “Enter” key on the keyboard
5: Use the down arrow key on your keyboard to move the selector to highlight “OSUMC GRAND ROUNDS” then press the right arrow key on the keyboard
6: If the video does not start streaming you may have to download an appropriate codec by selecting the “Click here” link near the bottom of the page and following the instructions on the following pages. Once the codec is downloaded you will need to start over at step 4
7: The Conference will start and you will be connected with other participants
8: Make sure to mute your microphone to avoid disturbing others that will be participating.
