Student disABILITY Services (SDS) at OSU-CHS provides support services to students with disabilities and is committed to providing equal access to programs, services and activities.
The Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSU-COM) will provide reasonable accommodations to medical students with disabilities, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and /or Section 502 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act. The purpose of providing students with such accommodations is to assure equal access to educational opportunities, not to assure academic success.
Reasonable accommodations provided to students must not pose an undue hardship on OSU-COM, result in a fundamental alteration in the nature of the academic program or activity, or result in an undue financial or administrative burden on OSU-COM. All medical students at OSU-COM must meet the Technical Standards of OSU-COM and fulfill the requirements of the Academic Program in a reasonably independent manner with or without approved accommodations.
The Committee on Students with Disabilities is responsible for review and approval of student requests for accommodations related to disabilities.
