October 1999 – February 2002:  Spent 4 hours weekly in OMM lab providing hands-on instruction including didactics to 1st and 2nd year medical students

physician for  3rd and 4th year medical students, interns, and residents in 
hospital  and out-patient clinic

February 2003:  Presented 1 hour lecture to staff and medical students

2004:  Co-authored a series of pediatric case-presentations with corresponding discussion topics and questions for birth to adolescence including developmental milestones, physical exam, disease process and associated physical findings, pertinent labs and testing including normal and abnormal findings for the Health Promotion/Disease Prevention Class at OSU CHS.

2005 - 2007:  Presented a 3 hour lecture series to the 2nd year 
medical students at OSU-CHS on Pediatric Well Child Visit and, Developmental Milestones 

2007:  Presented a 1 hour presentation to the OSU family medicine 
Residents on Current Immunization Recommendations

February 2008:  Assisted my department chair in the implementation of a teaching service as well as a private admitting service at Saint Francis Children’s hospital.  This has provided better continuity of care for our patients and has enhanced the residency training program by providing the required volume and accuity for resident board eligibility

 

Publications and Speaking Engagements 1999:  Authored a case study included in an article published by one of my associates in the JAOA on Sinusitis in the Pediatric Patient

May 2003:  Interview published in the Tulsa World on “Healthy Breakfast For Children” 

September 2003:  Invited to speak to the Gifted and Talented Class for Bixby High School.  The subject of the 1 hour long lecture was Education for Success, and included audience interaction

August 2004:  Guest speaker by request for The Tulsa Area Chapter of Play Therapists.  The 1 hour lecture with powerpoint presentation was entitled ADHD Medication in the Pediatric Patient

August 2007:  Completed and certified in the CITI course in the Protection of Human Research Subjects                        

2003:  Primary investigator and author of a study to determine the therapeutic effects of Osteopathic Manual Medicine on Pediatric Asthma Patients.  This Study has been submitted to the IRB and returned with 
recommendations.  I am currently working with Dr Benjamin to incorporate his variability technology into this study for research.

2004 – present:  Participating in ongoing research of Morgellons Disease which involves direct medical evaluation and treatment of patients, microscopic examination and evaluation of findings, forensic and laboratory testing.  This work is in conjunction with Randy Wymore, PhD, and has included the Tulsa Police Department Forensics team.  I authored a case definition of Morgellons Disease in 2006.  In 2007 a Center for the Investigation of Morgellons Disease was designated as one of the Centers for Excellence.  I was designated as the Lead Clinical Investigator for the center.  The efforts of our research team contributed to the inclusion of Morgellons as entry number 4396 in the National Institute of Health’s Rare Disease list.
