First-year medical students at OSU Center for Health Sciences spent last Friday afternoon giving back to the Tulsa community by completing a variety of community service projects as part of Dr. Pete’s Big Event.
The 115 new students spent their first day of orientation working at Eugene Field Elementary School, Little Light House School, Emergency Infant Services, Goodwill and Clarehouse. The event was organized by a group of second-year students.
Dr. Pete’s Big Event fosters a spirit of community and service in students and is part of OSU-CHS' mission to serve the underserved. The event also offers students an opportunity to build relationships and become invested in the Tulsa area.
