Renin-angiotensin system focus of First Friday Seminar
The Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at OSU-CHS will host Denovan P. Begg, Ph.D., for the First Friday Seminar tomorrow at noon in D-107.
Begg, a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Cincinnati, will present “The renin-angiotensin system and energy balance.” The lecture will focus on the hormone system in the regulation of body weight and metabolism and will discuss potential therapeutic approaches for obesity.
As a CJ Martin Fellow for the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia, Begg is involved in biomedical sciences research, specifically obesity, insulin resistance, fluid and electrolyte balance and nutrition.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided at 11:45 a.m.
