President Shrum to speak at TEDxOStateU
OSU-CHS President Kayse Shrum, D.O., will be a featured speaker at TEDxOStateU on Thursday, Oct. 24 in the Seretean Center Concert Hall on the OSU-Stillwater campus.
Shrum will share the story of how she first became interested in being a physician and how OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine is using programs like the Operation Orange summer camps and partnerships with FFA chapters across the state to encourage high schools students to become rural physicians. She will also discuss OSU-COM's Rural Medical Track and what the push for medical residency programs in rural communities means for the future of health care in Oklahoma.
Last year more than 750 people attended the first TEDx event at OSU and more than 20,000 people from 31 countries watched a live stream of the event on TEDxOStateU.com and on OState.TV.
