Reception to celebrate National Rural Health Day
OSU Center for Rural Health will host a reception on Thursday, Nov. 21 to celebrate National Rural Health Day and the 25th anniversary of the Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery becoming part of Oklahoma State University. Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the event from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Executive Board Room in the Barson Building.
Gov. Mary Fallin's Rural Health Day proclamation will be on display, as well as photos submitted to the Rural Oklahoma Photo Contest. President Kayse Shrum, D.O., and William Pettit, D.O., interim senior associate dean and associate dean of rural health, are scheduled to speak during the reception. Light refreshments will be served.
The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health created National Rural Health Day in 2011 as a way to showcase rural America and increase awareness of rural health-related issues.
