Antifungal drug resistance focus of First Friday Seminar
Award-winning researcher Theodore C. White, Ph.D., will discuss antifungal drug resistance during the First Friday Seminar on Dec. 6 at noon in D-107. The seminar is presented by the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology at OSU-CHS.
The Marion Merrell Dow Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, White will present “The ins and outs of antifungal drug resistance.” The lecture will focus on the basic mechanisms of drug resistance in pathogenic fungi which cause disease in humans and other organisms.
While serving as head of the Division of Cellular Biology and Biophysics, White was appointed interim dean of the School of Biological Sciences. He is a fellow in the American Academy of Microbiology.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided at 11:45 a.m.
