OSU-CHS, Benn to receive Southwest Tulsa Chamber awards
Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences and Amanda Benn, assistant director of clinical research, will be honored by the Southwest Tulsa Chamber on Thursday, Jan. 23 during the organization’s annual Community Awards Dinner.
OSU-CHS will receive the Jim Close Humanitarian Award, which recognizes the university’s efforts to train physicians for rural and underserved Oklahoma. The award also recognizes OSU-CHS’ involvement in southwest Tulsa and the students for their community service efforts with local organizations.
Benn, who has been a member of the chamber for three years, will receive the Volunteer of the Year Award for her work, high energy and involvement with the Southwest Tulsa Chamber. She currently serves as vice president of the chamber and volunteers at events and assists with communication publications. Benn represents the Southwest Tulsa Chamber on collaborations with RedFork Main Street, a non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing the Southwest Boulevard Corridor.
