Medical students provide health services during global health outreach trip
Fourth-year medical students Lauren Mitchell, Justin Mitchell and Tiffany Palmer traveled on a global health outreach trip to Guatemala on Feb. 1-8 to provide medical services.
Stan Grogg, D.O., associate dean of clinical research at OSU-CHS, lead the group which included an emergency medicine physician and dentist. They provided medical support to orphanages and villages along the Rio Dolce River.
The students and health care professionals treated approximately 500 patients for parasites, congenital heart disease, arthritis, eye diseases and rashes.
