Pain researcher to discuss role of toll-R receptors during seminar
University of California, San Diego researcher Tony Yaksh, Ph.D., will present the First Friday Seminar on pain management tomorrow at noon in D-107. A distinguished professor in the UCSD School of Medicine, Yaksh will discuss, “The role of toll-R receptors and the acute to chronic pain transition.”
The presentation will focus on developing pharmacological therapies for the management of pain. Yaksh serves as the vice chair of research in the department of anesthesiology and also teaches pharmacology and anesthesiology. His research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health since 1977.
The free lecture is hosted by the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Student Association. Light refreshments will be provided beginning at 11:45 a.m.
