United Way Day of Caring  is Sept. 9

Donate items by Aug. 17

 OSU-CHS volunteers will join the Tulsa Area United Way 2011 Day of Caring Sept 9, a day when we give back to our community.

CHS volunteers will visit Broken Arrow Neighbors Senior Citizen housing at Treetop Apartments to assist with manicures and bingo. Health screenings also are scheduled.  They also will help at the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma office at 2432 E 51st, assisting with Fall cleaning and maintenance.

Briá Taylor, project manager, is accepting donations of bingo prize items and manicure supplies for the Broken Arrow project through Aug. 17.

Bingo prize items for both men and women can include decorative items, trinkets, knitting and quilting items, dominoes and puzzles. Manicure items needed include nail polish, polish remover, cotton balls, hand sanitizer, nail clippers and grooming kits.

Drop off donations at the CHS elevator lobby (by front desk); in the Forensic/Biomedical Sciences building; with Ronda Shouse in Family Medicine - Physicians Office Building; or with Shanta Dunn in OB/GYN - Houston Center, Ste. 200.

Medsation medical education is Aug. 3 or 4

OSU-CHS offers a medical education program on two days, Aug. 3 or 4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the CHS campus. Registration deadline is Aug. l.  Registration fee is $125.

Bedlam Run funds scholarships

 The OU Club of Tulsa and the OSU Alumni Association’s Tulsa chapter join forces to raise money for student scholarships at the 2011 Bedlam Run Saturday, July 30. 

The event features a 5K, 10K and Fun Run for participants of all ages. The course runs through downtown Tulsa’s Blue Dome district and the OSU-Tulsa campus.

Sam’s Club offers memberships

A Sam’s Club representative will be on campus Wednesday, Aug. 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with special membership offers.   

Students who join or renew a membership receive a $15 gift card.  Faculty members who renew or join receive a $10 gift card. New members receive 15 months membership for the price of 12 months. The representative will be on the first floor by the student lounge.
