Interventional Radiology Fellowship

Program Description

The objective of the subspecialty fellowship-training program in vascular and interventional radiology is to provide a rigorous clinical and didactic experience designed to develop the unique skills and perspective necessary for the practice of vascular and interventional radiology. The educational program in this subspecialty is organized to provide comprehensive full-time training and experience in the evaluation and management of patients requiring image guided diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures. The value of coordination with referring physicians and contribution to overall patient care will be stressed.

The program is designed to utilize a number of imaging modalities including fluoroscopy, angiography, computed tomography, ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, and other modalities included within the scope of imaging. The program will accept a trainee each year with the duration of the program expected to equal one calendar year. Osteopathic philosophy will be stressed in every aspect of this training program including inpatient and outpatient assessment and interventional planning.

In terms of volume, over 8,620 services were provided in the last year--not including three to six clinical consultations per day. Our scope encompasses the gamut of Interventional Radiology from Pheripheral Arterial Disease to pain and oncology.
