St. Anthony Hospital

Family Medicine Residency

Program Description

The Saint Anthony Family Practice Residency program is a two-year program, following a first year traditional rotating internship. The residency is built around a three part foundation:

  • First to prepare physicians to deliver high quality medical care in terms of both high tech procedural proficiency and management of patient psychosocial issues.
  • Second to prepare physicians to practice comfortably in either a rural or urban setting.
  • Third to prepare physicians for Board Certification.

The Residency program is focused on care of total patient, both in the in-patient and out-patient setting. Hands-on procedural skills are taught by experienced faculty and the program also teaches the practice of medicine through office management seminars.

The St. Anthony Family Practice program is dedicated to the development of physicians who will further the integrity and high standards of the osteopathic profession. There is also a special interest placed on the training of physicians to become teachers of the profession.
